The inbox is sacred ground.

People let very few things into their inbox. The brands they've chosen are in there alongside their family, their boss, and their bank.

That's an extraordinary level of trust — and most marketing teams burn it. They batch-and-blast. They write subject lines that read like clickbait. They send without a reason.

We started Conversion Lab to do the opposite. Every email we ship has a job. Every send has a reason. Every word earns its place.

That's also why we keep the studio small. Quality at the inbox level scales linearly with attention, and attention doesn't survive an org chart.

Principle 01

Strategy before software.

No new ESP, no new tool, no new automation until we understand the business and the audience. The platform is the easy part.

Principle 02

Words do the heavy lifting.

The best email program in the world is a series of well-written sentences. Design supports the copy; the copy carries the meaning.

Principle 03

Measure what matters.

Open rates are vanity. We measure revenue per recipient, lift over control, and dollars retained. The rest is for dashboards.

Principle 04

Make the boring things good.

Order confirmations. Receipts. Shipping updates. The transactional emails everyone ignores are the ones with the highest open rates. We design those too.

Principle 05

Plain text isn't laziness.

Sometimes the best-performing email is one paragraph from a real person. We're not married to fancy templates when a plain note will outperform.

Principle 06

If we can't do it well, we won't do it.

We don't run paid ads. We don't run SEO. We don't do social. Email is a deep enough specialty for one studio.
